This issue was largely developed by two art historians, Nenette Luarca-Shoaf and Laura Turner Igoe. They have put together an exceedingly interesting and provocative issue, addressing complex ways artists have re-imagined waters as diverse as the waterways of New York City and the Athabasca River, near the Alberta tar sands region. Much to learn here!
We hope you enjoy the issue; please do feel free to share it. We welcome your comments, ideas, and suggestions.
