Call for Book Chapters: Leadership Through the Lens: Interrogating Practice, Presentation and Power

Call for Book Chapters: Leadership Through the Lens: Interrogating Practice, Presentation and Power

Television has long played a significant role in the manner in which we shape, understand and perform life. This thought is no different as we examine the use of television as a medium to learn about the manner in which people lead in the workplace. Proposals for book chapters are invited to examine aspects of leadership communication in the workplace, broadly conceived, through presentations on television. This book will explore the intersection of leadership presentations in scripted and unscripted workplace settings. More specifically, studies are sought that highlight the innovative ways in which various leadership styles are illustrated in a variety of contexts on television. The overarching focus of the book examines how television constructs our understanding of leadership as it relates to race, gender, class, sexuality, voice, ability and the body. Authors are asked to consider multiple genres of television using a wide range of theoretical perspectives.

Examples of chapters include, but are not limited to:
Authenticity and leadership
Politics and leadership
Redefining gender and leadership
The roles of race and/or ethnicity and leadership
The body as a tool for leadership
Learning and performing leadership
Leadership and television pedagogy
Leadership and workplace justice
Innovative ways of leading in the workplace
Community as a form of leadership
Workplace culture and leadership
Teams and leadership
