CALL FOR CRITICAL ESSAYS ON LGBT MEDIA OR LITERATURE

Purdue University Northwest Professors Theresa Carilli (Communication) and Jane Campbell (English) are seeking critical articles and essays which delve into understanding the LGBT community through media or literature.  Articles and essays should focus on identifying a gay sensibility in the work of writers, directors, actors, and producers, exploring desire, marginalization, the political and social effects of identity, or something uniquely tied to this body of literature, television, and film.  Articles and essays can examine any literary genre including fiction, poems, plays, performance, and autobiography.  Television and film can focus on individual works by writers, directors, or producers or on television series that have contributed to LGBT awareness.  Abstracts are due by June 1, 2016, with final articles due on August 1, 2016.  Articles should be no longer than 15 pages.  For inquiries contact Theresa Carilli, Ph.D., Department of Communication and Creative Arts, !

Theresa Carilli, Ph.D., and Jane Campbell, Ph.D., are the co-editors of Women and The Media: Diverse Perspectives (UPA, 2005), Challenging Images of Women in the Media (Lexington Books, 2012), and Queer Media Images (Lexington Books, 2013)  They are currently series editors of Media, Culture, and the Arts (Lexington Books).
