Call for Nominations: IWCA Outstanding Book/Major Work Award

Members of the Writing Center community are invited to nominate works about writing center theory, practice, research, or history for the IWCA Outstanding Book/Major Work Award. Now given once per biennium, the next award will be given at the IWCA Annual Conference held October 14-16, 2016, in Denver, CO.
The work must have been published during the award period, June 2013-June 2015. Both single and collaboratively authored works, by scholars at any stage of their academic careers, published in print or in digital form, are appropriate. All submissions will be evaluated in the same way and by the same criteria. Self-nominations are not accepted.
The Book/Major Work should:
Address one or more issues of long-term interest to writing center administrators, theorists, and/or practitioners.Discuss theories, practices, or policies that contribute to a richer understanding of writing center theory and practice.Show sensitivity toward the situated contexts in which writing centers exist and operate.Significantly contribute to the scholarship of and research on writing centers.Serve as a strong representative of the scholarship of and research on writing centers.Embody the qualities of compelling and meaningful writing.
To nominate a Book/Major Work, send the title and publisher information along with a short rationale addressing the criteria to the IWCA Book/Major Work Award Committee Chair, Roberta Kjesrud, Roberta.kjesrud@wwu.edu.
Deadline: 30 June 2016
